Old Fashioned's were once an old man drink, but have become all the rage. This fall twist is a perfect way to welcome the changing of the seasons while enjoying a classic. This recipe calls for Toasted Yellowstone Bourbon, but feel free to substitute any toasted bourbon or whiskey of your choice.
Recommended glassware: Rocks Glass
Autumn Old Fashioned
Ingredients:
1/2 oz apple cider
1 tsp dark brown sugar
2 dashes Angostura bitters
1.5 oz Toasted Yellowstone Bourbon
Caramel
Apple slices & cinnamon sticks & star anise for garnish
Rim with Fall Spice
Directions:
Rim a glass by swirling caramel around the rim of your glass, then spin the rim in a bowl or plate of Fall Spice.
In a mixing glass combine the cider, brown sugar and bitters. Stir until sugar has dissolved.
Fill the mixing glass with ice and add your toasted bourbon. Stir until chilled (about 15 seconds).
Strain into a rimmed rocks glass with fresh ice. Garnish with an apple slice, cinnamon stick and star anise.
Serve it up and enjoy it!
