Maple Old Fashioned
Rated 5.0 stars by 1 users
A classic Old Fashioned uses simple syrup or a sugar cube. This recipe swaps out the sugar for maple syrup - which brings in a sense of coziness during the winter months. We highly recommend using black walnut bitters in lieu of Angostura bitters.
Recommended glassware: Rocks Glass

Ingredients
-
2 ounces bourbon or rye
-
3-4 dashes Black Walnut Bitters
-
½ ounce maple syrup
-
orange peel
-
1 Luxardo maraschino cherry
-
Ice
-
Candied Pecan Beverage Rimmer
Directions
Rim your glass by swirling a some simple syrup (or maple syrup) around top of your glass then spin the rim of your glass in your Candied Pecan Sugar Rimmer.
Add the bourbon, bitters, and maple syrup to a mixing glass, and briefly stir to combine. Add the ice, then briefly stir the drink one more time to mix and chill.
Use a vegetable peeler or knife to carefully cut a 2- to 3-inch-long piece of orange peel.
Strain your drink into your rimmed rocks glass with fresh ice. Twist your orange peel over the drink and tuck it under your ice. Add your cherry and cheers!
